    The Driftwood hanger looks like real wood. I am looking forward to seeing how well it will stand up to the weight of the rack and solid it is on the wall.

    Great Piece!...don't pre-drill a screw into the outward face of the driftwood

    After unsuccessfully trying to find a real piece of driftwood to mount my deer skull, I found Goltine and ordered the driftwood hanger. The driftwood hanger looks like a real piece of wood and I was very happy with the appearance and quality. However, I like to mount my euro mounts facing outward instead of straight down. So my plan was to attach a skull hanger to the driftwood. Upon receiving the piece, it already had a screw drilled into the face of the driftwood which when removed left a visible white hole because it is composite. So to hide the pre-drilled hole I had to turn the driftwood upside down and put a u nail into the hole and added a piece of barbed wire to make it look like an old fence post. It turned out great, but caused me extra work. I think that Goltine should include the screw but not drill it into the face of the driftwood in case it is to be used to hang a skull another way. If it wasn't for the pre-drilled screw in the face of the driftwood I would have given this item 5 stars. It is a quality piece.
